We are looking for a Senior HRIS Analyst in our People Technology team. As a Sr. HRIS Analyst, you’ll be part of a cross-functional team whose mission is to lead IonQ on its journey to build the world’s best quantum computers to solve the world’s most complex problems.
In this role you will be a key architect of our global people technology ecosystem, optimizing the Workday engine that powers our talent strategy. Reporting to the Director of Global People Technology, you will manage our end-to-end HR tech stack, with a heavy focus on data architecture, security configuration, and advanced analytics.
Responsibilities:
- System Ownership: Act as the primary lead for Workday HCM, Reporting, and Performance. Manage the full lifecycle of application solutions, from initial requirement gathering to deployment and release management.
- Domain Expertise: Configure and optimize Workday across all modules, including HCM, Absence, Benefits, Compensation, Help, Journeys, Talent, and Time.
- Strategic Collaboration: Lead sessions with business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into scalable software solutions.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee critical document generation (offer letters, termination agreements, and employee covenants) in partnership with Legal, ensuring accuracy and compliance for both internal moves and newly acquired talent.
- Process Innovation: Continuously evaluate workflows to identify "friction points," driving system enhancements that improve the employee and manager experience.
- Audit & Compliance: Maintain a rigorous focus on SOX compliance and internal controls. Lead year-end reporting, audits, and system-related compliance activities.
- Lifecycle Management: Manage the Workday release cycle, ensuring IonQ is leveraging new features effectively while maintaining detailed process and configuration documentation.
You’d be a good fit with:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Workday HCM (Configuration, Benefits, Compensation, and Advanced Reporting).
- Strong understanding of job architecture, company/cost center hierarchies, and experience navigating HRIS integration during M&A activities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced Excel is a must) and familiarity with third-party integrations and data privacy regulations.
- Proven track record operating in an Agile environment using tools like Jira and Confluence.
- Expertise in project planning, developing functional specifications, building business cases, and executing rigorous test plans.
You’d be a great fit with:
- Workday Pro HCM or Reporting Certification is highly preferred.
- While remote, you must have the ability to perform work on-site as needed for specific projects or team intensives.
- Ability to translate "system-speak" into clear, actionable insights for diverse teams and senior leadership.
- High-level time management skills with the ability to pivot quickly in a high-growth, fast-paced tech environment.
- A deep understanding of security controls, audit requirements, and internal control adherence.
Location: This position can work onsite or hybrid from one of our offices (College Park, MD, Bothell, WA) or fully remote.

The approximate base salary range for this position is $97,123 - $126,652. The total compensation package includes base, bonus, and equity.
Compensation will vary based on individual factors such as education, qualifications, and experience of the final candidate(s), specific office location, and calibration against relevant market data and internal team equity. Posted base salary figures are subject to change as new market data becomes available. IonQ's HQ is located in College Park, Maryland, just outside of Washington DC. We are actively building out our recently opened manufacturing and production facility in Bothell, WA (near Seattle). Depending on the position, you may be required to be near one of our offices in College Park, Seattle, Toronto, Canada, and Basel, Switzerland.
