Overview
Joby Aviation is looking for a Cook based out of Santa Cruz, CA. You will be a valued team member helping to provide a great experience for our staff members. We are a small team, and everyone helps out in all tasks including prepping, cooking and cleaning.
Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning. Cook food using various methods such as grilling, frying, and sautéing, ensuring each dish is prepared to the highest quality.
Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, following all sanitation and safety procedures. This includes properly storing all food and equipment.
Dishwashing & Storage: Assist with washing dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment. Store all clean items correctly to ensure they are ready for use.
Quality Control: Check the quality of all ingredients before use and ensure all dishes are well-presented before they are served.
Required
Experience & Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with 2-4 years of experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Skills & Knowledge: You should be proficient in using a variety of kitchen tools and equipment, including cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware. A strong knowledge of different cooking procedures (e.g., grilling, baking, boiling) is essential.
Teamwork & Communication: You must be a strong team player with excellent communication skills. You thrive in a collaborative environment and understand that success is a team effort. You enjoy being part of something bigger than yourself and work toward a common goal.
Commitment to Quality & Safety: A keen eye for detail and a strict adherence to all sanitation rules and procedures are required.
Availability: Must be able to work flexible shifts, including weekends and evenings.
Desired
Culinary Education: A diploma or degree from a recognized culinary school is a strong plus.
Additional Information
Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $23-$30/hr. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
