Overview
Working as a Data Analytics Engineer in the System Test core team you will be responsible for developing analytical tools and reporting results from company and certification tests. You should be able to work cohesively with subject matter experts and distill requirements into simple, testable and maintainable software. You will also need to work closely with your analytics colleagues across a broad set of highly technical disciplines who depend on data to architect and optimize analytics solutions. The ideal candidate is energetic, has a positive attitude, is flexible and excited about learning and using new technologies.
Responsibilities
- Data Management: Ensure collection, cleaning/filtering and analysis of large development and certification datasets happens in a controlled, reliable and standardized way using Grafana, Databricks, python, excel etc.
- Develop tools for data storage and review to make data more accessible and enable team to identify critical information and trends faster - "data" may include but is not limited to configuration management of test assets, test data sets for development or certification tests, burning down team tasks, calibration of equipment and more
- Build Dashboards: Generate custom dashboards to aid in developing insights, identifying trends, visualizing data (e.g test procedures/test plans burn downs for cert)
- Collaborate: with stakeholders system test engineers, software developers to deliver data solutions
- Data Review Automation Deliver a standard automated report following the company and certification test (as part of the Test Process). Saving time in the data review process. Creating consistent reports. What does the end user need to see quickly (trends, events, etc.)
- Process improvement - collaborate with test team, data analytics teams, IFPCS and other IPTs improve management, tools and dashboard.
Required
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar field and 5+ years of relevant work experience
- Strong background in data science, data analysis and visualization (algorithms, data structures, and architectures), probability, statistics, and predictive modeling
- Experience with data pipeline architectures, ingestion, transformations, analytics, API connectors and visualization
- Familiar with GIT source control
- Self-starter capable of working with limited supervision and guidance
- Experience leading test projects from conception to completion
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with version control, able to manage your software through its entire lifecycle (development, testing, deployment)
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, Polarion and SharePoint
Desired
- Experience with distributed systems and big data tools such as Databricks, Apache Spark, etc.

- Coding language knowledge (C++, python, Matlab etc) and proficiency to develop to build/deploy software, create automation tools and data pipelines
Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $97,900 - $130,500/yr. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
