Overview
The Aircraft OEM Chief of Staff will work closely with the President of Aircraft OEM with a focus on streamlining strategic initiatives, overseeing program management and communicating objectives company-wide, with a focus on Aircraft Development. The ideal candidate will have proven success in a management consulting role as well as an aviation focused organization, with a special focus on executive-level advising and interdepartmental collaboration. This position is located onsite in Santa Cruz, California. This role is not eligible for remote work.
Responsibilities
- Support strategic business initiatives, from business plan development through successful execution
- Program manage multiple initiatives from conception to delivery
- Produce executive level presentations to enhance and expedite decision making and strategic alignment
- Develop, maintain, analyze and produce metrics related to plans
- Assist with risk assessments, developing mitigation plans and refining business cases.
- Support a complex and diverse group of units and programs in the areas of strategic planning and analysis, financial planning and budget analysis, human resources, space and facility requirements and/or airline operations
Required
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field required, MBA preferred
- At least 5 years of professional experience in a relevant field
- At least 2 years of experience in management consulting
- Experience working in an aviation/aerospace environment
- Excellent written and interpersonal skills
- Ability to influence across the organization; ability to mobilize key internal and external stakeholders and engage both colleagues and senior leadership
- Strong presentation skills, including the ability to create presentations for an executive audience
- Demonstrated strategic and analytical thinking skills; ability to translate strategy to a tactical, executable level, including development of excel based financial models
- Experience leading multiple projects concurrently, demonstrating a pragmatic approach and results orientation
- Ability to resolve escalated issues and problems quickly, efficiently, and independently
- Experience providing counsel and management support to a high-level executive, overseeing commitments, and ensuring priorities are strategically managed and executed in a dynamic environment
- Experience applying sound judgment and business acumen in communication and experience navigating confidential and sensitive situations at all organizational levels
Desired
- FAA licensure (e.g. pilot’s license and/or airframe and powerplant license)
- Experience working at or with aircraft development and certification
- Experience in complex project development
Additional Information
Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $133,500 - $216,700/yr. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
