Joby Overview
Overview
Working as a Test Engineer at Joby, you will support the Airframe & Actuator Testing Team as they test structural and mechanical hardware made by Joby. As part of this team, you will perform testing of critical components for VTOL electric aircraft. Working in our hardware test facilities under the supervision of senior test staff, the test engineer will design and assemble test setups including mechanical, electrical, and data acquisition. The data collected during these tests will inform the company’s hardware design efforts and pave the way to safe, production-ready airframes.
Responsibilities
Execute and create tests to validate the characteristics of aircraft hardware by working closely with the hardware design, build and test teams. Write test plans, test procedures, design instrumentation, test stand/fixture designs, data acquisition architectures, and any other necessary tools to allow for thorough, efficient and repeatable testing. Analyze data collected during tests to generate reports that provide empirical feedback to develop, validate and verify our hardware.

- Strong analytical background
- Fluent in data acquisition techniques, signal conditioning, and data processing techniques associated with above sensors
- Experience with mechanical design and drafting, Computer Aided Design (CAD)
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills
Desired
- M.S. in relevant discipline
