About The RoleThe Manager, IT Financial Risk Management will be focused on coordinating and building a world class IT risk management program for Uber’s Infrastructure platform to mitigate existing and emerging risks. This role presents an exciting opportunity to work cross-functionally with Uber’s platform teams to develop and support an integrated internal controls program!The role will be interacting closely with Engineering and Product teams to rationalize and automate Uber’s controls environment. The successful applicant will have the ability to problem solve within a constantly evolving technology environment, demonstrate their ability to evaluate and advise on core Infrastructure Engineering and Security processes and controls! What You’ll Do
  • Build and maintain cross-functional relationships across Infrastructure / Security Engineering, and Technical Program Management teams and audit partners to drive the internal controls readiness and assurance
  • Perform process discovery in response to key projects/initiatives through early detection and adopt preventative measures
  • Improve efficiency of Infrastructure / Security control environment through implementation of automation and process improvement
  • Bridge gaps between IT and business controls, including ITGCs and automated business controls
  • Advising on the following activities; narrative and flowchart development, risk assessments, control rationalization, management controls testing
  • Implement new controls and processes with response to changes to the business environment, such as; new product introduction, platform / technology adoption and migrations
Basic Qualifications
  • 7+ years' experience in IT controls, risk management, and/or relevant area
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with emerging technology risk and Agile/ DevOps environments within a microservices ecosystem and emerging technologies (Apache Kafka, Hadoop, Github)
  • Experience implementing and evaluating control environments across large scale distributed systems and the evolving regulatory landscape
  • Ability to break down complexity - deeply understand the problem, simplify, and be able to explain the “why” to various audiences including influencing senior leadership
  • Experience in consulting and/or internet/technology industry
  • Ability to deeply analyze sophisticated systems to identify potential financial, operational, systems and compliance
  • Advanced relationship building to gain trust through action, becoming a knowledge leader in Uber’s platform, and finding opportunities to deliver value to our cross-functional partners
  • Ability to thrive in environments of uncertainty, bring critical thinking and a data driven approach to navigate across our large scale distributed systems
  • Experience with SOX readiness assessments and control implementation
  • Experience with information technology general controls and automated business process controls and concepts
  • CISSP/CISM/CISA
