OpenGov seeks a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) for our Budgeting & Planning product. In this role, you will be pivotal in maintaining and optimizing our environments, including production and pre-production. Your expertise in cloud infrastructure will ensure the high availability, scalability, and resilience of our applications. You will manage our CI/CD pipelines to ensure we can roll out new code frequently with as much automation as possible. You will play a crucial role in upholding our service level agreements (SLAs), responding swiftly to incidents, and using advanced monitoring tools to manage system health proactively. This position is critical to our goal of developing trustworthy and engaging software solutions for the public sector.

Responsibilities:
• Developing and maintaining highly automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborating with software engineering teams for deployment and issue resolution.
• Managing and optimizing development, staging, ephemeral, and production environments.
• Ensuring AWS cloud infrastructure's high availability and reliability.
• Orchestrating containers with Kubernetes.
• Conducting security assessments, including via automation.
• Optimize resource usage and hosting costs.
• Implementing and managing observability for real-time monitoring and alerting.
• Upholding SLAs through efficient performance monitoring and incident management.
• Participating in on-call rotations for prompt incident response.
• Driving big initiatives and leading project teams.
• Plan work and deliver on time.
Requirements & Preferred Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or a related discipline or similar work experience.
• 5+ years experience as a Site Reliability Engineer.
• Strong Linux fundamentals and bash/python scripting skills.
• In-depth experience with cloud infrastructure (e.g. AWS, GCP or Azure).
• Strong experience in infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform/Helm/Kustomize.
• Proficiency in Kubernetes/Docker for container management.
• Deep experience with CI/CD tools such as Github Actions, ArgoCD, Gitlab, Jenkins.
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools, especially Datadog and Grafana.
• Proven track record of meeting SLAs and handling incident responses with PagerDuty, OpsGenie.
• Experience with capacity planning and disaster recovery planning.
• Ability to work effectively with software engineering teams.
• Strong communication skills and a dedication to ongoing learning and improvement.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• A strong ownership attitude and a track record of taking responsibility for challenges.
