Bring up & maintain robust wafer-level optical testing in a high-tech manufacturing environment
Join our team and play a key role in enabling high-performance optical testing in a cutting-edge production setup in Malaysia. As a Test and Maintenance Engineer, you will ensure stable, efficient, and high-quality wafer-level optical testing, working at the intersection of engineering, production, and innovation.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Production, Process, NPI, and external vendors, as well as colleagues in Switzerland who developed the testing processes and technologies.

Tasks and responsibilities
Wafer-Level Optical Tester Bring-Up and Qualification
Drive the ramp-up and validation of wafer-level optical testers in Malaysia, including machine qualification and process buy-off.
Deep Understanding of Test Systems and Methodologies
Develop and maintain a strong technical understanding of tester operations, optics, calibration, and alignment processes.
Data Analysis and Data-Driven Problem Solving
Monitor test results and apply statistical tools (e.g., SPC, GR&R, Lean Six Sigma) to ensure performance, stability, and quality.
Equipment Maintenance and Reliability
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, manage spare parts, and troubleshoot hardware and software issues to minimize downtime.
Test Process Optimization
Continuously improve test cycle time, stability, and efficiency through structured problem-solving and process optimization initiatives.
Skills, experiences and qualifications we are looking for
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Optical Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering, Physics, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in wafer-level testing and optical measurement techniques
- Strong understanding of test methodologies and manufacturing environments
- Solid troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, and optical systems
- Experience with statistical analysis tools such as JMP, Python, or Minitab
- Knowledge of SPC, GR&R, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma principles
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment with a strong sense of ownership
- Fluent in English (written and spoken) with strong communication skills
- Experience working in cross-site or global teams
- Additional language skills (e.g., Mandarin or Malay)
