As our new Module Software Engineer, you will play a key role in developing image quality extraction pipelines, test software, and data handling solutions for next-generation cameras and optical modules. Additionally, you can demonstrate new use cases for our meta lens-enabled sensing solutions. This is a unique opportunity to grow your expertise in a fast-moving, multidisciplinary environment at the forefront of nano- and micro-optics innovation.

Based in our modern office and cleanroom facilities in Seehallen Horgen, right next to Lake Zurich, you will join an experienced, collaborative team dedicated to building next-generation optical modules and functional demonstrators.

Tasks and responsibilities

Image Quality Extraction Development

Design and implement robust image quality extraction pipelines for automated optical test systems, enabling scalable and accurate performance evaluation.

Data Management & Visualization

Develop structured data management solutions for manufacturing data, including visualization tools that support real-time insights and process optimization.

Test System Development

Contribute to the development of optical module test systems, ensuring precision, repeatability, and reliable automation in manufacturing and characterization environments.

Prototype & Demonstrator Development

Build and test functional prototypes and demonstrators in our hacker lab to validate concepts and showcase system capabilities. Demonstrate use cases of meta lens enabled systems.

System-Level Integration

Support the development of optical modules such as camera systems, dot projectors, and diffusers, balancing performance, manufacturability, and cost.

Skills, experiences and qualifications we are looking for

  • BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Microengineering, Optics, Photonics, or a related field
  • 5+ years of work experience
  • Experience with image processing and data analysis, ideally with Python
  • Experience with databases
  • Familiarity with structured data handling and use of visualization tools
  • Experience in developing and automating test systems is a plus
  • Background in optics is a plus
  • Independent, structured, and solution-oriented mindset
  • Strong communication skills for technical collaboration
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment
  • Fluent in English; German is a plus
