About the role

We are seeking an experienced Product Manager to join our product team, reporting to the VP of Product. Given the extensive scope of our platform—spanning satellite hardware, software systems, and mission operations—this position is critical for translating complex technical capabilities into cohesive product requirements and ensuring successful delivery across components of the Muon Halo stack. You will work closely with the VP Product and collaborate across the organization to drive platform success.

Inbound Product Management

  • Lead need capture and requirements definition for key areas of the Muon Halo platform ecosystem
  • Translate complex customer mission needs into detailed product requirements spanning hardware, software, and operations
  • Own and prioritize product backlogs for assigned platform components and features
  • Define associated acceptance criteria and validation processes for integrated system capabilities
  • Coordinate technical trade-offs between satellite hardware constraints, software capabilities, and operational requirements
  • Establish traceability from customer needs through system requirements to implementation
  • Contribute to configuration control and change management processes

Outbound Product Management

  • Support Go-To-Market teams in product launch planning and market positioning.
  • Support sales enablement and product marketing by creating technical documentation that help sales teams effectively communicate product value to prospects.
  • Participate in customer meetings, product demonstrations, RFP responses, and serve as technical product expert during the sales process.
  • Work with marketing teams to develop product messaging, website content, case studies, whitepapers, and thought leadership content that drives demand generation.
  • Conduct customer interviews, gather feedback on product-market fit, and understand how customers actually use the product.
  • Analyze market trends, customer behavior, competitive moves, and identify new market opportunities or threats.
  • Define how features are bundled, create different product packages, and determine what capabilities are included at different price points under the guidance of Go-To-Market teams.
  • Analyze why deals are won or lost, identify product gaps or competitive advantages, and feed insights back to product development.

Technical Integration & Architecture

  • Define product interfaces that ensure reusability of architecture from one mission to another
  • Define technical requirements that ensure seamless interoperability between components (MuSim, MuOS, MuCore, MuSat, MuDash)
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve complex dependencies across hardware and software subsystems
  • Contribute to architectural decisions that balance performance, reliability, and time-to-market
  • Partner with the hardware and software engineering teams on technical debt and product evolution strategies

Cross-functional Coordination

  • Partner closely with engineering teams across satellite hardware, embedded software, ground systems, and cloud infrastructure
  • Collaborate with the VP Product and product team members on strategic roadmap decisions and feature prioritization
  • Work with mission operations teams to ensure products meet operational feasibility and efficiency requirements
  • Support program management in coordinating deliverables across multiple customer missions
  • Interface with manufacturing teams to align product designs with production capabilities

Required Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of Product Management experience with demonstrated success in complex technical environments
  • Deep familiarity with space systems engineering principles, methodologies, and lifecycle processes
  • Strong background in translating technical requirements across hardware and software domains
  • Experience with systems integration in mission-critical environments
  • Proven track record of managing product backlogs and defining technical requirements
  • Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams in complex technical environments
  • Knowledge of spacecraft subsystems, ground operations, and satellite mission planning
  • Understanding of configuration management and change control processes
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field; advanced degree preferred

Nice-to-have Skills

  • Experience with satellite or aerospace product development
  • Knowledge of LEO constellation operations and Earth observation systems
  • Familiarity with embedded systems and space-qualified hardware
  • Experience with agile development methodologies in hardware/software integrated environments
  • Previous experience in startup or high-growth technology environments
  • Previous experience deploying a Product function within a space or deeptech company
