About the Role:

The Commerce Planning Manager is a highly collaborative leadership role, responsible for both the development of people and management of assortment and inventory plans, to achieve IPSY’s sales and profitability targets through pre-season plan development, in-season re-forecasting, management of inventory investments, as well as ownership of unit economics and open-to-buy.

IPSY is looking for a motivated, data driven thought-leader who thrives in a fast-paced, startup environment. The ideal candidate takes initiative, particularly when working cross-functionally with Merchandising, Brand Partnerships, Site Operations, Finance, and Marketing to support IPSY’s evolving business needs. To be considered, you must have experience directly managing others, deep experience in merchandise planning or inventory management, a passion/excitement for building new tools and processes, comfort with ambiguity and be a nimble, strategic thinker who can synthesize large amounts of data to drive decision making. You’re comfortable quickly shifting between operational and analytical responsibilities. You will have outstanding drive, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and an advanced skill set in Excel / Google Sheets.

This position reports to the Director of Planning and is fully remote from the states where IPSY hires (listed below) with preference given to candidates in the San Francisco Bay Area.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Build Program, Category, Class, and SKU level revenue & unit economics forecasts with supporting
    investment quantities and accurate flow forecasts
  • Cross-functional OTB modeling and process leadership experience; inclusive of demand planning, supply
    planning, and product lifecycle management
  • Ownership of overall pricing and event strategies in partnership with Merchant partners
  • Orchestrate monthly Commerce events and product drops with Ops team to ensure flawless execution,
    while resolving inventory discrepancies swiftly
  • Build strong cross channel and functional relationships to influence others and drive results, leveraging
    data-based insights
  • Manage deadlines to keep inventory flow and kitting on schedule, in cooperation with Supply Chain &
    Operations
  • Manage, coach and develop a team of 2 Planners
  • Support & adopt technology initiatives related to commerce operations

What We are Looking For:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in business or merchandising-related fields
  • 5+ years of analytical experience in merchandise planning or inventory management & 3+ years
    managing others
  • Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets / Excel required, including v-lookups, pivot tables & logic formulas
  • Strong analytical acumen with proficiency in retail math and impeccable attention to detail
  • Proactive self-starter with excellent interpersonal and time management skills who has demonstrated
    experience creating, implementing and leading cross-functional business processes
  • Experience building driver-based forecasts for a large SKU mix with complex product life cycles, including
    incrementality, cannibalization and pricing elasticity
  • Flexible and comfortable with a fast-paced, always changing environment; able to pivot on a dime

Bonus if You Have:

  • Experience with omni-channel planning
  • Familiar with Toolio Planning System & Netsuite
  • Proficient in Google Suite & Tableau
  • Beauty obsessed: a level of comfort within the industry and space, familiarity with brands and trends

Pay is based on several non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, skills, and location. IPSY offers a bonus, equity grants, and competitive benefits. Final compensation is determined by experience and skills.

Salary Range:
$95,000$130,000 USD
