Included Health is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Revenue Accountant to take ownership of complex contract order management, collaborate with stakeholders spread across the organization, and the accurate application of the Company's revenue recognition policies. This critical role ensures the completeness and accuracy of sales contracts, drives operational efficiency in the quote-to-cash process, and maintains compliance with SOX and GAAP standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of complex contract order management and the set up of related deals in Workday.
  • Manage the system setup of all sales contracts within relevant business systems (usage, subscription, and amendment levels) to ensure completeness and accuracy throughout the monthly and quarterly close process.
  • Collaborate with business partners (Accounting, IT, FP&A, and Engineering) to initiate and implement process improvements to the quote-to-cash process to increase operational efficiencies while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the underlying accounting records.
  • Work with teams to automate quote to cash and establish traceable and auditable evidence for order fulfillment, monthly usage rating, and applicable reporting.
  • Be responsible for applying, enforcing, and executing the Company's revenue recognition policy as it relates to the performance of revenue accounting.
  • Able to clearly articulate results, variances and demonstrate an understanding of the root cause to management.
  • Establish controls necessary to ensure that revenue forecasts, deferred revenue balances, and revenue accounting execution are compliant with company policy and GAAP.
  • Provide audit support for control and substantive testing and prepare schedules requested by internal and external auditors.
  • Participate in the month- and quarter-end close process and related responsibilities for the accounting department including leading close activities by preparing journal entries, maintaining account reconciliations, and ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Create and publish metrics to capture, control and report Revenue Operations team effectiveness.
  • Streamline systems and reporting tools to ensure efficient and accurate recording and proper classification of revenue. Participate in systems upgrades and enhancements as necessary.
  • Ad Hoc reporting and project lead/engagement.

What will you bring?

  • Own Contract life cycle management: Ensuring contractual database and set up of new and existing contracts in the ERP, that follow proper ASC revenue recognition.
  • Own Revenue Recognition: Apply, enforce, and execute the Company's revenue recognition policy in compliance with GAAP.
  • Technical Expertise: With guidance and collaboration of leadership Stay current on evolving FASB and SEC accounting pronouncements, incorporating updates into company policy as necessary.
  • Financial Analysis: Perform analysis to support key financial entries, including reserves and other revenue/expense-impacting accounts.
  • Month/Quarter-End Close: Lead close activities by preparing journal entries, maintaining account reconciliations, and ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • System & Process Improvement: Help in establishment and implementation of Streamlining systems and reporting tools for the efficient, accurate recording and classification of revenue. Participate in system upgrades and enhancements.
  • Compliance & Controls: Establish and maintain controls to ensure revenue forecasts, deferred revenue balances, and overall execution are compliant with GAAP and corporate policy.
  • Internal Consulting: Act as a key resource, working closely with internal business unit partners, accounting leads, and internal/external auditors on technical accounting matters.
  • Reporting & Communication: Prepare and maintain reports/schedules for senior leadership, FP&A, and auditors, including but not limited to clearly articulate financial results, variances, and root cause determination.
  • Inquisitive Review: Apply professional skepticism to review and analyze the appropriateness of underlying accounting principles supporting revenue recognition.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting with minimum of 5 years experience preferred; CPA/MBA highly desirable.
  • Background in understanding and applying software and SaaS revenue accounting literature.
  • A combination of Public and Industry Accounting experience is desired.
  • Ability to manage complexity well and demonstrated experience managing across functions and businesses to accomplish large scale goals in a large, public company environment.
  • Confidence, good judgment, energy and personality to work in a dynamic, multi-business unit environment across all levels of management and across business units and functions.
  • Strong end-to-end process orientation with demonstrated analytical thinking, organizational skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to influence people indirectly and work with people in multi-functional roles.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills, time prioritization and risk assessment.
  • Working knowledge of Workday ERP and Sales Force is a plus.
  • Strong Excel and/or Google Sheets processing skills.
  • Experience in Looker and other dashboard platforms is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications, presentation and influencing skills, including the ability to raise issues appropriately to the right level internally and externally to resolve.
Pay:
The United States new hire base salary target ranges for this full-time position are:
Zone A: $63,670 - $82,770 + equity + benefits
Zone B: $70,037 - $91,047 + equity + benefits
Zone C: $76,404 - $99,324 + equity + benefits
Zone D: $82,771 - $107,601 + equity + benefits

Starting base salary for you will depend on several job-related factors, unique to each candidate, which may include education; training; skills; years and depth of experience; certifications and licensure; our needs; internal peer equity; organizational considerations; and understanding of geographic and market data. Compensation structures and ranges are tailored to each zone's unique market conditions to ensure that all employees receive fair and great compensation package based on their roles and locations.
