About the Role

As an Industrial Software Deployment Engineer, you will own how software is delivered to our production line and kept up to date. Our line operates a fleet of test benches, workstations, and industrial compute nodes, each of which must be reliably installable, updatable, and recoverable. You will be responsible for packaging, rollout, versioning, and rollback, as well as rebuilding stations from scratch when required. You will develop and maintain production-grade Python tooling and operate it on physical machines in a factory environment rather than on cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Deployment tooling – Write the Python tooling and automation (Ansible, Docker) that makes any station reproducible and recoverable from scratch.

• Fleet management – Design and build the systems that roll out, version, monitor, and roll back software across a heterogeneous fleet of stations, IPCs, and industrial compute nodes, including machines with limited or unreliable connectivity.

• Scalable CI/CD for Production – Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/GitLab CI) that support the rapid delivery of automation tools and inspection software to the factory floor.

• Enable the floor – Give operators and field engineers simple, safe ways to deploy and recover stations without needing you.

• Cross-Team Collaboration – Work with R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality, and be accountable for your software running on the line, not just passing CI.

Candidate Requirements

• MSc in Software, Electrical, Computer Science, or a related engineering field.

• 3+ years of professional experience in a software engineering role with a heavy focus on infrastructure, DevOps, or industrial automation.

• Strong Python – You have built and maintained production tools or services, not just scripts.

• Containerization Mastery – Hands-on experience deploying software at scale using Docker and orchestration tools.

• Fleet & Config Management – Experience with tools like Ansible for workstation configuration or IIoT platforms for managing distributed industrial assets.

• Excellent communication skills and proven ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with MQTT or other messaging systems, Redis, PostgreSQL.

• Industrial environments: manufacturing, MES/ERP, test or automation equipment.

Bonus: Hands-on experience with margo.
