About Us
Harmattan AI is a next-generation defense prime building autonomous and scalable defense systems. Following the close of a $200M Series B, valuing the company at $1.4 billion, we are expanding our teams and capabilities to deliver mission-critical systems to allied forces.
Our work is guided by clear values: building technologies with real-world impact, pursuing excellence in everything we do, setting ambitious goals, and taking on the hardest technical challenges. We operate in a demanding environment where rigor, ownership, and execution are expected.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven U.S. Army Business Developer to lead our efforts within the Army ecosystem and help convert our growing traction into long-term programs.
With nearly $1 billion allocated to UAS/C-UAS initiatives and new DoD directives enabling tactical-level purchasing, the Army is entering a new era of rapid procurement and innovation. This role is critical to positioning Harmattan AI as a trusted partner in that transformation.
You will be responsible for identifying and capturing opportunities, managing senior relationships across Army PEOs, PMs, and units, and leading demonstrations of Harmattan AI’s autonomous defense solutions. This is a hands-on, high-impact position for someone ready to shape the next generation of Army capabilities.
Responsibilities
1. Strategic Growth & Business Development
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the U.S. Army and related defense entities.
Develop and execute tailored go-to-market strategies to achieve measurable growth in revenue and market share.
Maintain a robust opportunity pipeline using market insights, budget tracking, and competitor analysis.
Convert early traction and RFI activity into funded wins and long-term programs.
2. Sales & Client Engagement
Implement a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with the company’s Army objectives.
Build and maintain relationships with acquisition offices, primes, and program managers.
Deliver compelling product demonstrations and presentations showcasing Harmattan AI’s technologies and mission impact.
Provide structured reports and forecasts to the leadership team on Army market activity, wins, and risks.
3. Stakeholder & Government Relations
Cultivate relationships with operators, decision-makers, and senior Army officials.
Represent Harmattan AI at key Army and defense industry events, trade shows, and government meetings.
Coordinate with internal teams (R&D, Product, Program Management) to ensure operational alignment and delivery readiness.
Candidate Requirements
Experience: 3+ years in business development or defense sales within the U.S. market.
Background: Prior experience working with or selling to the U.S. Army or DoD ecosystem.

Strategic Acumen: Strong understanding of Army procurement processes, OTA/IDIQ pathways, and DoD acquisition cycles.
Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to engage senior military and industry stakeholders with clarity and credibility.
Mindset: Highly proactive, mission-driven, and adaptable to fast-changing priorities.
We look forward to hearing how you can help shape the future of autonomous defense systems at Harmattan AI.
