About the Role

As our General Accountant, you will be instrumental in helping us in our growth, becoming the owner of our General Ledger (GL) and the guardian of our financial integrity.

Responsibilities

General Ledger Ownership & Financial Integrity

• Full ownership of general accounting for our two French entities, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the balance sheet at all times.

• Manage the end-to-end month-end closing process, including the booking of adjustments and the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations

• Perform monthly payroll-to-GL reconciliations, fixed assets (CAPEX) tracking, IC entries and reconciliation, Foreign exchange variance, Monitoring and recording of all grant-related entries…

• Accrual Management: Lead month-end closing activities, including the estimation and booking of FNP (Invoices not received), CCA (Prepaid expenses), Inventory, Accrued revenue and other provisions.

• Inventory entries: Oversee inventory accounting, including raw materials and Work-in-Progress (WIP) related to the Wissous manufacture, ensuring proper valuation and variance analysis.

Active participation in ERP Automation

• Participation in designing and implementing accounting schemes, processes and automated workflows within our ERP to streamline operations, particularly those linked to production cycles.

• Establish robust internal control procedures to secure data quality from initial entry to final reporting.

• Actively participate in the continuous improvement of the finance tech stack to minimize manual tasks.

Year-End Closing & Tax Compliance

• Lead the preparation of the year-end closing file, ensuring all supporting documentation is organized and readily available. Be prepared to answer external auditors specific questions.

• VAT Management & Reconciliation: In collaboration with the Chartered Accountant, oversee VAT compliance. This includes performing rigorous Revenue-to-VAT reconciliations (cadrage CA/CA3) and maintaining a critical eye on tax filings to ensure accuracy.

• Assist in the preparation of statutory tax returns, with the long-term objective of owning the "Liasse Fiscale" process internally eventually.

Candidate Requirements

Educational Background

• A strong academic record in Accounting, Finance or Management control

Experience

• 5 to 8 years in accounting, ideally starting in a large industrial company followed by a start-up/scale-up experience.

• A background as a "Comptable Unique" or a Senior GL Accountant is preferred.

Technical Aptitude

• Expert mastery of French GAAP and VAT schemes, with the ability to produce a "Liasse Fiscale" and manage complex reconciliations

• Proficiency in Odoo and knowledge of American Gaap are a plus.

Adaptability

• Thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments; exhibits a “no-task-is-too-small” mentality while driving large-scale strategic initiatives.

Communication Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication, capable of influencing a wide range of stakeholders—from production-line personnel to senior executives.

International Exposure (Preferred)

• Experience working across diverse geographies and cultures, demonstrating the ability to adapt manufacturing processes to different regulatory and operational contexts.
