We’re looking for a Lead Software Engineer to help establish and lead a team centered around the mission of providing a best-in-class experience for our customers. You'll need a strong technical skills and a focus on collaboration. You'll be working across teams, informing business decisions, and helping to expand our enterprise software platform.

The DraftKings Casino and iGaming vertical has an expansive range of casino games and other DraftKings exclusive games to provide our customers with a robust and engaging experience. Like our other verticals, the DraftKings Casino and iGaming product is the result of many teams collaborating to bring the website and app to life.

What you’ll do as a Lead Software Engineer

• Take ownership of the design, development, maintenance, testing strategy, and operations of a full-stack team, with API services written primarily in C# with SQL databases hosted in AWS and Single Page Applications written primarily in React and Node.js.

• Collaborate with business leads across the company to define milestones and deliveries for new functionality to be added to existing applications.

• Care about agility as much as you care about scalability. We roll out products very quickly and are looking for a team that can pivot at a moment’s notice.

• Work with your team under fast deadlines to design, build, and deliver innovative applications.

• Lead your team in design sessions and ensure your team delivers high-quality work that aligns with the missions of our applications and platform.

• Mentor and coach junior engineers, conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback.

• Participate in troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving technical issues across the software stack.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software products within established timelines.

What you’ll bring

• Over 5 years experience as the ‘expert’ on a development team where you were responsible for everything from planning to delivering key features and management of those features.

• Strong expertise in .NET software development stack, including C#, ASP.NET, Entity Framework, etc.

• Strong relational database skills using technologies like MySQL or SQL Server.

• Familiarity with JavaScript, Typescript, and popular frameworks such as React and/or Angular, Node.js, etc.

• Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.

• Solid understanding of software design principles, design patterns, and best practices.

• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

• You also have the ability to write automated comprehensive test suites at all levels of the architecture.

• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or similar) and knowledge of DevOps is a plus.
