Team Overview

We are looking for a sharp, discreet, and methodical Compliance Officer to lead and conduct high-stakes internal investigations across our Mexico operations. This role is central to upholding our Code of Conduct and integrity. You will manage a caseload of complex allegations, including fraud, corruption, harassment, and serious labor violations. The ideal candidate is an expert interviewer, a meticulous analyst, and possesses substantial forensic investigation experience or deep corporate internal investigations expertise, particularly in matters involving employees.

Role Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Investigation Management

  • Plan, lead, and conduct confidential investigations into allegations of misconduct (e.g., fraud, corruption, information leakage, etc.), from initial case intake through to conclusion and reporting.

  • Conduct sensitive interviews, perform forensic data collection and analysis (in collaboration with other departments where needed), and gather/document evidence with legal defensibility in mind.

  • Expertise in Labor & Employee Matters

  • Apply in-depth knowledge of Mexico Labor Law to investigations involving workplace harassment, discrimination, disciplinary actions, and unfair labor practices.

  • Work closely with HR and Legal to ensure investigative findings align with local employment regulations and support appropriate disciplinary or remedial actions.

  • Reporting & Accountability

  • Prepare comprehensive, clear, and objective investigation reports for senior management, the Disciplinary Committee, and relevant regulatory bodies when necessary.

  • Recommend enhancements to controls, policies, and training based on investigative findings to prevent future issues.

  • Stakeholder Coordination

  • Liaise with external legal counsel, forensic accountants, and law enforcement agencies as required.

Role Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Criminal Justice, Finance, or a related field. Certifications in fraud examination (CFE) or internal investigations are highly valued.

  • 8+ years of dedicated experience in conducting internal/forensic investigations, preferably within a multinational corporate setting, a law firm, or a consulting firm.

  • Proven forensic investigation experience or a strong background in corporate internal investigations, with significant focus on cases involving employee misconduct and labor relations.

  • Expert-level understanding of Mexico Labor Law as it pertains to investigations and disciplinary procedures.

  • Exceptional interviewing, analytical, and report-writing skills. High ethical standards and unimpeachable discretion.

  • Spanish as native launguage and professional working proficiency in English.
