We are seeking a Senior Compliance Officer to serve as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to our commercial operations in Brazil. Your mission is to integrate compliance seamlessly into business strategy and daily operations, enabling sustainable growth. You will be embedded within business units, working closely with Sales, Products, Operations, Marketing and HR leadership to provide pragmatic guidance on complex commercial practices, regulatory challenges and employee relations.
Role Responsibilities
- Act as the primary, dedicated compliance advisor to assigned business units, proactively participating in business meetings and strategic initiatives to provide forward-looking, risk-based solutions.
- Offer clear, actionable counsel on complex compliance matters involving third-party management, gifts & hospitality, conflicts of interest, anti-corruption, anti-fraud, etc. in day-to-day operations.
- Lead compliance risk assessments for new business initiatives, market campaigns, and partnerships, designing effective and business-practical mitigation controls.
- Monitor the regulatory landscape and ensure the company's practices remain compliant with new laws, translate regulatory requirements and internal policies into clear business language and processes.
- Develop and deliver engaging, scenario-based compliance training tailored to specific business functions, empowering line managers and employees.
- Champion a culture of integrity and ethical decision-making through daily interactions and advisory support.
- Serve as the first point of contact for compliance concerns arising within the business, identifying any potential misconduct, fraud, corruption and violations of Code of Conduct.
- Lead and conduct confidential internal investigations into allegations of misconduct, fraud, corruption, and violations of the Code of Conduct, prepare clear, concise, and well-documented investigation reports for senior management.
Role Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Law or a related field. A post-graduate degree is a plus.
- Demonstrable expertise in three key areas: Brazilian Labor Law, internal investigations, and compliance program management.
- 10+ years of proven experience in compliance, internal audit, or a related field, with a significant portion dedicated to conducting internal investigations.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to provide pragmatic, risk-based advice to senior stakeholders.
- Proven leadership skills and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent project management and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional interviewing, analytical, and report-writing skills.
- Fluent in Portuguese and professional proficiency in English.
