Job Title: R&D Engineer (IVF Automation & Robotics)

Employment Type: Full-time

Location: Guadalajara, Jalisco, México (On-site)

Role Objective: The primary objective of this role is to solve complex challenges in IVF laboratory automation by engineering custom solutions that bridge biology and technology. You will be responsible for creating hardware, software, and experimental protocols designed to overcome the barriers to automation in assisted reproduction. We are looking for a problem-solver who can navigate the intersection of robotics, code, and clinical requirements to build systems that improve precision, consistency, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engineering Solutions: Design, prototype, and validate custom hardware (robotics/instrumentation) and software to automate manual IVF tasks.
  • Protocol Development: Create and refine experimental protocols that allow biological processes to interface seamlessly with automated systems.
  • Experimental Execution: Run laboratory experiments to test and troubleshoot your designs in real-world scenarios.
  • Software Development: Write code (Python, C) for device control, data acquisition, and process analysis.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify bottlenecks in current laboratory workflows and propose engineering solutions to resolve them.
  • Documentation: Maintain rigorous documentation of designs, code, and experimental results to ensure reproducibility and transferability.

Required Profile

  • Education: BSc or MSc in Biomedical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Control Engineering, or related fields.
  • Programming: Strong proficiency in Python and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
  • Electronics & Hardware: Hands-on experience with electronics (Arduinos, sensors, motors) and fabrication (creating/fixing precision instrumentation or robots).
  • Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex systems and find creative solutions to technical problems.
  • Language: Advanced English level (Written and Spoken).
  • Culture: Autonomous, analytical, and possessing a collaborative attitude, eager to learn.

Desirable Skills (Nice to have)
