About the IOP & Groups Team:

Our team is responsible for the launch and ongoing success of the IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) and Group programs within the Brightside platform, as well as the seamless transition of external IOP platform processes and patients to our systems. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for building features across the Brightside platform, including the member experience, provider workflows, and internal features used by our operations team. We are responsible for the end-to-end experience of our patients for this 0->1 product, from the moment they sign up for our programs to the moment they complete their treatment.

As an engineer on our team, you will have the opportunity to work on our patient-facing web and mobile applications, as well as our home grown EMR system & internal tools. What you will do as a Senior Software Engineer, IOP & Groups:

We are looking for full-stack engineers with a strong product sense who value a high degree of autonomy. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the software that powers our IOP and Group programs. You will work closely with our product and design teams to create a seamless and intuitive experience for our patients. You will also work closely with our data science and clinical teams to ensure that our software is able to support the needs of our patients and clinicians.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver end-to-end features in both the Rails API and React front-end.

• Collaborate with your product manager & designer to ship high quality features for our customers.

• Ensure the codebase's high quality by writing thorough unit tests, conducting code reviews, and implementing automation.

• Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.

• Debug production issues and solve our patient's problems

Requirements:

• Strong full-stack engineering experience with technical leadership, design, coding, and collaboration skills.

• Substantial experience building and supporting complex React web applications.

• Substanatial experience managing APIs in Rails.

• Excel in a highly collaborative setting with various stakeholders and subject matter experts.

• Enjoy collaborating with a diverse team of individuals with different areas of expertise.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Favor straightforward solutions and designs, with a keen sense of what will be sustainable and scalable.

• Empathize with users and are committed to creating exceptional experiences.

• Experience building/supporting HIPAA-compliant applications is preferred.

• Experience building engineering solutions focused on mental health is preferred.

• Value the significance of thorough documentation, both internal and external.
