About the role
We are searching for an HR Manager to serve as a critical member of the BoomPop team, overseeing all aspects of people operations, team culture, and recruiting.
The ideal candidate will internalize BoomPop’s unique brand strength and help us double down on our incredibly fun, unique, and high-performing team culture. The role will begin as a team of one, but we look for you to establish best practices and help build the function as we scale. You’ll manage the HRIS, onboarding/offboarding, coordinating recruiting, team culture initiatives, and more.
What you'll do
Partner with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy, particularly concerning current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
Provide support and guidance to management and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances, such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
Manage the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial and professional roles; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
Analyze trends in compensation and benefits; research and propose competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
Create learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommend best practices.
Own maintenance and communication of internal employment policies and resources.
Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Manage, maintain, and update the HRIS, 401(k), and sexual harassment training systems, ensuring accurate employee information.
Process semi-monthly payroll for employees and contractors across numerous states, ensuring accuracy and reflecting any employee changes.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
A minimum of 5+ years of human resource management experience is preferred.
SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP are highly desired.

Experience with multi-state payroll to ensure compliance with federal and state laws.
