Role Description The Field Support Technician contract role is responsible for providing on-site and remote technical support for end users in a hybrid work arrangement based in Nashville, TN, with some work-from-home flexibility. Day-to-day tasks include installing, configuring, and maintaining desktop computers and related hardware, diagnosing issues, and performing repairs or replacements as needed. The role involves responding to support tickets, troubleshooting software and hardware problems, and ensuring systems are functioning reliably and securely. The technician will document issues and resolutions, follow established procedures, and collaborate with internal IT teams and vendors to resolve complex technical problems. This position also requires clear communication with non-technical users, adherence to service level expectations, and occasional travel to local client sites as required.
Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess strong Field Support skills, including on-site user assistance and coordination of service activities.
  • Candidates should possess experience working with Desktop Computers, including installation, configuration, upgrades, and peripheral setup.
  • Candidates should possess solid Technical Support and Troubleshooting abilities to diagnose and resolve software, hardware, and connectivity issues.
  • Candidates should possess hands-on Computer Repair skills, including component replacement, system imaging, and basic hardware maintenance.
  • Relevant qualifications include familiarity with Windows operating systems, basic networking concepts, and ticketing/helpdesk tools.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and documentation skills, with the ability to explain technical issues in clear, accessible language.
  • Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment, manage priorities, and meet deadlines; prior experience in field service or desktop support is preferred.
  • Associate degree in IT or related field, or equivalent work experience; industry certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Network+ are beneficial.
