Blumind is a deep-tech startup at the forefront of the AI revolution. We are building a new class of semiconductor: ultra-low-power analog AI processors designed for edge inferencing. Our technology enables complex AI, from "always-on" keyword spotting to advanced vision and language models, to run on a fraction of the power of traditional digital chips. We are on a mission to make high-performance, on-device AI ubiquitous, from wearables and mobile, to smart home devices, automotive and industrial IoT.
Role Overview
We are looking for a senior Head of Business Development with a proven network and track record selling edge AI or semiconductor solutions into OEM, ODM, and platform partners.
This role owns the customer relationship, design wins, and revenue growth. You will be responsible for collaborating with internal stake holders to turn Blumind’s differentiated technology into products and solution revenue by engaging the right accounts, structuring commercial relationships and deals, and driving adoption from pilot to production.
This is a hands-on role for someone who has a set of relevant OEM and ODM account relationship, understands silicon design-in cycles, and can operate comfortably with both engineering teams and executive buyers.
You will work with existing client engagements and alongside the existing Blumind management team to meet your targets while expanding the client base to accelerate our growth at adjacent accounts.
Key Responsibilities
OEM / ODM & Account Development
- Leverage an existing network of OEMs, ODMs, and semiconductor-adjacent partners to drive early design wins and revenue.
- Own strategic account relationships from first engagement through production
- Advocate for high-value use cases for our always-on, ultra-low-power edge AI technology.
- Work directly with customer engineering teams to support evaluations, pilots, and design-ins
Edge AI Sales & Go-to-Market
- Drive commercial adoption of Blumind’s edge AI products and IP
- Develop account-level strategies aligned with our product development cycles and roadmap
- Translate technical performance advantages into clear business value for customers
- Structure commercial agreements including strategic sourcing agreement, licensing, silicon partnerships, and long-term supply and service relationships
Partnerships & Ecosystem
- Build partnerships with semiconductor vendors, module suppliers, OEMs and platform providers
- Identify co-development opportunities with OEMs and ODMs
- Support leveraged strategic alliances that accelerate time-to-market and scale
Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with Blumind’s strategic product and engineering teams to align customer requirements with Blumind’s roadmap
- Partner with leadership on pricing, positioning, and revenue forecasting
Required Experience
- 10+ years in semiconductors, edge AI, or embedded hardware solutions account management
- Demonstrated success closing deals with Tier-1 OEM and ODM customers
- Deep understanding of design-in, qualification, and production cycles
- Existing relationships within semiconductor, embedded, and industrial AI ecosystems
Skills & Attributes
- Strong commercial instincts with a builder mentality
- Technically fluent and credible with engineering teams
- Comfortable owning revenue targets and pipeline
- Skilled in negotiating complex, multi-year commercial agreements
- Able to operate independently in a fast-moving startup environment
Strong Plus
- Background in AI accelerators, SoCs, or low-power compute
- Experience with IP licensing or silicon partnerships
- Exposure to consumer, industrial, infrastructure, or defense edge deployments
- International OEM / ODM experience
Education
- Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical or scientific field with a focus on Machine Learning preferred.
Location
- Preferred location is Toronto/Ottawa or US West Coast. Candidates willing to relocate to Canada will also be considered
