To ensure our Guests are protected and are able to travel confidently, we offer Guest Travel Insurance, this program aligns with the other protections offered to Guests through AirCover. The Difference You Will Make:

The Senior Manager, Insurance Operations and Compliance will help lead Airbnb’s insurance operations in the Americas and APAC, and will have responsibility for compliance, existing agency operations, launch of new insurance initiatives, and performance of the portfolio. You will serve as an insurance subject matter expert internally and build relationships with internal stakeholders and external insurers, brokers and regulatory agencies. This role will report to our Director, Insurance Solutions and will work extensively with our legal, finance, and AirCover teams.

A Typical Day:

• Leading the development and execution of Airbnb’s Americas and APAC insurance agency strategy in partnership with the global Insurance Solutions team and internal cross-functional partners, with overall responsibility for Airbnb’s insurance distribution activities in the Americas and APAC markets.
• Responsible for overseeing the development and maintenance of relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including the regulators who oversee agency operations, insurance partners, and other business partners.
• Establishing and monitoring agency OKRs, and leading monthly and quarterly business reviews.
• Building, managing, and continuously developing a team who will ensure the Company's success and whose actions and behaviors reflect Airbnb’s Core Values.
• Providing oversight of key functions within the Company and ensuring they produce the desired results and deliver consistent with the overall strategy and purpose of Insurance Solutions, AirCover, and the Company.
• Developing and maintaining a strong risk management and compliance culture within the Company, acting as the head of agency risk and compliance as well as other risk and compliance related functions to ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements and wider group policies and standards.
• Acting as a thought leader for the Company and representing it at global external and internal events.

Your Expertise:

• 12+ years of relevant experience with a significant amount of insurance agency and/or brokerage experience.
• People management experience, including experience in managing remotely.
• Substantive knowledge of insurance products and the insurance marketplace, with demonstrated expertise in insurance company operations, insurance brokerage, or agency management.
• Experience creating and managing risk and compliance processes.
• Familiarity with relevant regulations and guidelines related to insurance and risk management.
• Ability to understand digital-first businesses, communicate concisely, and influence effectively across a wide audience including regulators, Airbnb leadership, finance and product teams, and the legal team.
• Flexibility and willingness to work with all levels of the organization and to "roll up your sleeves" to get the job done.

Your Location:

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager.
