Manager - Analytics & Modelling, Central Operations About The RoleWe are looking for someone who gets excited enabling others to solve tough problems by applying scientific methods and bringing value from our extensive data resources.This role will sit within the ‘Business Analytics’ area of the newly organized BizOps (Business Operations) team, one of the key functions of EMEA Mobility Central Operations. This team is where we locate the strongest and deepest quantitative talent and capabilities within Central Operations, and works hand-in-hand with teams from across central and local operations to drive business impact.As well as performing analytics and modeling work, you will be responsible for enabling teams to deliver impact through specific projects, by steering & influencing the portfolio governance (prioritization, coordination, allocation, communication, stakehоlder management, etc.) of work for the team (and Krakow CoE resources).You will also be responsible for developing a science- and data-driven decision-taking vision for EMEA Mobility, and driving cultural and capability change across the organization, to enable everyone to ‘level-up’ their impact through the application of scientific methods and data to their decision making.What the Candidate Will DoReporting to the Head of Business Operations (BizOps), this person will be responsible for:
  • Leadership; creating a vision for the impact that Analytics & Modelling capabilities can have in Uber’s future-state operating model
  • Team Enablement; Inspiring and developing team members to have a huge impact and to tie what they are doing back to OKRs, the ‘why’ and PnL impact
  • Stakeholder Management; build strong relationships with key folks in Central Operations, Local Ops & global product/analytics teams, to partner with them in your mission
  • Opportunity identification, qualification & prioritization; Orchestrating the focus of quantitative resources to maximize the impact for Uber Mobility EMEA
  • Business intelligence, including building and maintaining critical dashboards; and developing data-driven insights related to business performance and customer experience
  • Advanced modeling, including Building or validating existing business or financial models, and building or validating machine learning models
  • Advanced statistical analysis, including: setting up or validating experiments, but also conducting or validating statistical analysis using business or customer data sets
Basic Qualifications
  • Experience working in Analytics, Statistics and / or advanced modeling
  • Postgraduate degree / research experience in STEM subjects
  • Stakeholder mgmt. experience, ideally in a business context (e.g. consulting)
  • Multidisciplinary experience; you’ve applied your quantitative skills in multiple industries and/or fields
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong trusted relationships with senior business leaders and drive towards common goals
  • Track record of strong performance and excellent stakeholder / management feedback
  • Collaborative, engaging, open and transparent behaviors and working style, to inspire your colleagues and stakeholders, and bring them on a journey to your vision
  • The ability to communicate effectively and to coordinate multiple stakeholders in ambiguous circumstances
Bonus points
  • Entrepreneurial experience & mentality; have enabled others in your field
  • Have taught your subjects in a variety of circumstances (e.g. lectures, tutorials)
  • Experience working with business economics, PnLs, & business strategy
