About the team:
Robinhood's Technical Programs Department leads global engineering, quality, and planning initiatives across the business. We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) who will help establish our deployment and testing strategy across a 750+ person multi-organization engineering department. If you're excited about unlocking the potential of our teams and their ability to rapidly deliver, this may be the role for you.
The Senior TPM will partner with managers and executive leaders throughout Engineering to design and run programs that seek to reduce our time to delivery without compromising on quality. They will also partner with Engineering and Product to lead the planning and delivery of new products, features, important maintenance, and the deprecation of systems that are no longer needed. If this sounds like you, please come help us democratize finance for all!
What you’ll do day-to-day:
- Evaluate existing resiliency to change and code quality programs and determine what good looks like– what stays, what goes, what should we do instead?
- Use your technical understanding to identify risks and dependencies
- Provide technical transparency through concise summaries for the programs you own to audiences at all organizational levels
- Foster a constructive dialogue, harmonize discordant views, and build agreement
- Increase the productivity and effectiveness of teams by applying project management best practices
- Help plan for the unexpected, making sure that upstream and downstream systems are not broken by changes related to the efforts you manage
- Plan to make sure projects do not wear out individuals and system maintainability is not compromised
- Ship products on a live, large-scale system while managing upstream and downstream dependencies
- Manage post-launch support plans and running retrospectives/postmortems
About you:
- 5+ years of experience as a technical program manager, engineering lead, or equivalent
- An understanding of the architecture of the systems you work with (e.g., workflows, APIs, runtime characteristics, design limitations, and maintenance requirements)
- Experience rolling out large and complex issue tracking and project management enterprise solutions
- Experience with AWS, K8s, or other distributed systems
- Bonus: PMI PMP, PgMP, or equivalent
